Während der Ursachenforschung zu den bereits bekannten Datenverlusten wurden nun auch Daten des staatlichen Gesundheitsdienstes NHS als vermisst gemeldet - aber keine Panik: die Angaben zu 160.000 kranken Kindern und mehreren zehntausend Erwachsenen sollen nicht in falsche Hände geraten sein. The Sunday Mirror reports (...) the loss of names and addresses of 160,000 children by City and Hackney Primary Care Trust, after a disc failed to arrive at an east London hospital.Another loss consisted of archive records relating to patients treated 40 years ago - none of whom is still alive.
The Department of Health says patients have been told and there is no evidence data has fallen into the wrong hands.
"I think it's the tip of the iceberg, actually, because there's such carelessness within the NHS."

Die zuständige Gesundheitsministerin will zwar wissen, dass keine wichtigen Daten verloren gegangen sind, aber sie weiss gar nicht, welche Daten überhaupt verloren gegangen sind. Nennt man so etwas Ignoranz?
Once again, the incompetence is staggering. (...) Yet still the Government demands to know more about us - and laughably insists our secrets are safe with them.
